We spend a third of our lives in bed, so investing in a healthy, supportive mattress is a really big deal.

Why does wool make a great mattress?

  • Wool, used by many of our ancestors, provides comfort and gentle support. Unlike synthetic alternatives, wool maintains its loft over time, ensuring consistent comfort each night.

  • Wool has temperature-regulating properties. Wool fibers naturally absorb and release moisture, helping to regulate body temperature. Whether keeping you warm on cold nights or wicking away moisture to cool you down, wool adapts to your needs.

  • Wool’s natural structure allows for optimal air circulation, preventing heat and humidity buildup. This breathability contributes to a cooler sleep environment and helps maintain a dry, hygienic mattress.

  • For those with sensitivities or allergies, wool mattresses are a sanctuary. Wool naturally resists allergens like dust mites, mold, and mildew, making it an excellent choice for respiratory health and allergy prevention.

  • Wool mattresses are naturally flame-resistant, achieving this without harmful chemical treatments. This makes wool a healthier option for a chemical-free sleeping.

  • Wool mattresses also offer energetic and spiritual advantages. Wool is known for its grounding and calming properties, creating a serene sleep environment that supports restful and restorative sleep. It has a healing frequency so the natural fibers of wool help to harmonize your energy field and enhance your overall well-being.

  • Wool’s durability ensures it withstands compression over time, maintaining its shape and support for years. Plus, wool is a sustainable, renewable resource, aligning with eco-conscious values.

  • Unlike traditional mattresses with metal coils that can attract electromagnetic fields (EMFs), wool mattresses offer a more natural, balanced sleeping environment. This avoids potential disruptions to your energy field, promoting deeper, more restful sleep.

In the world of mattresses, wool offers a perfect blend of natural comfort, temperature regulation, hypoallergenic benefits, and energetic harmony. They are typically a larger investment - but an important one for a healthy home.

Hemp House Journal

This week, we poured the concrete foundation for our home, and I can’t help but reflect on the symbolism of this moment.

It’s more than just the literal base of a house — it’s what everything else will stand on, the ground that will support us for years to come. A strong foundation represents stability, strength, and the beginning of something deeply intentional, not just for the structure itself but for the life and relationships that unfold within it.

For the last 12 years, we’ve lived in a house with a crumbling foundation. And if I’m honest, my relationship with Isaac has mirrored that.
